Called to Be An Apostle

All of life is a journey—a journey of love. Each of us has been called by the Lord to walk with Him, to share His life and love with His people. For some women, the path of discipleship leads to the very Heart of Christ, to lives as Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Life as an Apostle begins as the Lord invites us to leave all behind and set out on a pilgrimage of love. This journey forms us to be Apostles of His love, women of prayer, women of community, women of the heart. We learn through the discernment process and initial formation what it means to be an Apostle of the Sacred Heart, and the journey once begun continues throughout our lives.

The aim of the Apostles is to attain a perfect love for God by making the Heart of Jesus known and loved, by living the law of charity among all people, and by embracing the evangelical counsels of Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience. (ASCJ constitutions)
