A weekend of Apostle Celebrations, July 25-27, 2008

On Sunday July 27, Mount Sacred Heart Chapel at the U.S. Provincialate in Hamden, CT was filled with sisters, families, and friends to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Sr. Elaine Ann Lattanzi and the Silver Jubilees of Sr. Mary Grace Giaimo, Sr. Alice Legan, and Sr. Lisa Florio. Sr. Elaine Ann is the director of Sacred Heart Manor Nursery & Kindergarten in Hamden. Sr. Mary Graces serves as a General Councillor at the congregation's Generalate in Rome, Italy. Sr. Alice teaches at St. Joseph School in the Chinatown section of New York City, and Sr. Lisa teaches at St. Rita School in Hamden.
On Saturday, the Apostles also gathered in celebration of the Profession of First Vows of Sr. Colleen Patricia Mattingly and Sr. Carrie Christine Zagurski. As Junior Professed sisters, they will be living in the community at the Sr. Antonine Signorelli Formation house for the coming year. Renewing their vows during the same ceremony were Sr. Angela Gertsema and Sr. Christine Ann Hoffner. After having spent the last year studying in Rome, Sr. Angela will be joining the community at Sacred Heart Private and teaching at Santa Maria School in the Bronx, NY and Sr. Christine Ann will be teaching at Cor Jesu Academy in St. Louis, MO.
After spending the past 9 months in preparation in the postulate, Sr. Emily Grace Klein was invested into the Novitiate on Friday evening, July 25. A native of New York City, Sr. Emily Grace will spend this Apostolic year of the Notiviate in service with the Our Lady, Queen of Apostles community in Imperial, MO.
