SUMMARY:St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Relic Veneration
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce that first-class relics of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque—one of the patron saints of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the saint most closely associated with Sacred Heart devotion—will be present at our Provincialate chapel in Hamden for public veneration on Monday\, June 22. All are welcome to join us at Mount Sacred Heart Chapel\, 295 Benham Street in Hamden\, anytime between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. No RSVP is required. \nAt the top of each hour\, there will be a 20-minute guided meditation on themes related to the Sacred Heart. The relics\, along with commemorative holy cards\, are being made available through the generosity of the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council\, New Haven. \nPlease note the following: \n\nVisitors are asked to park in the lot nearest the carport located at the far end of the property. Please enter and exit through the carport entrance only. (Ring the bell on the left to gain entry.)\nFor those who need assistance\, there is an elevator to the first floor and a lift to access the main chapel.\n\nCanonized in 1920\, St. Margaret Mary inspired widespread devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus after Christ revealed His Heart to her through a series of private revelations—including the 12 Promises of the Sacred Heart. These revelations led to the institution of the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in 1856 and modern-day devotion to the Sacred Heart. \nIf you cannot join us\, the relics will be on display at the Blessed Michael McGivney Pilgrimage Center in New Haven (formerly the Knights of Columbus Museum) from June 20–21 and June 24–27\, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
