Come and See Retreats
Have you ever found yourself wondering, “Could God be calling me to something more?”
If you feel drawn to learn more about life as an Apostle of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we warmly invite you to join us for a Come and See Retreat. These weekends are designed especially for women who are prayerfully discerning religious life and are ready to take the next step in discovering where God may be leading them.
Rest assured, attending a Come and See Retreat does not commit you to religious life. These retreats are not about pressuring you or making decisions—they are about creating space: space to pray, to ask questions, to encounter our community, and to listen more deeply to the voice of Jesus in your heart.
During your time with us, you will:
- Pray alongside our Sisters and experience the rhythm of our daily life
- Learn more about our charism and mission in the Church
- Share meals and conversation in a spirit of joyful community
- Have time for personal reflection and one-on-one conversation
- Meet other women who are discerning God’s call
Above all, you will have the opportunity to encounter the Heart of Jesus more deeply and to grow in clarity about His loving plan for you.
Is God calling you here? Come and see for yourself!

Testimony:
It was such a blessing to spend time with the Sisters in May of 2023. The lush grounds of Connecticut in the spring provided a peaceful time for prayer and self-reflection, especially through a Rosary walk with Sister Colleen and the other visitors, as well as alone time walking along the Stations of the Cross in the garden. I can still hear the birds as I watched the sunset from the top of the hill. A lovely respite from New York City, Heaven was close. It was wonderful to spend time with the Sisters and learn the many unique ministries they’re involved with in service to the Church. We also had a chance to visit and laugh with the retired Sisters, hearing about their vocations. It was impactful to hear their lifelong witness and joyful commitment. The Sisters were so generous, sharing meals and an ice cream social with the novices, where we heard further witness as to how God can call us in our lives. It was so valuable to have so much time dedicated to prayer, but also to meet one-on-one with the Sisters for spiritual direction and discuss God’s will in our lives in alignment with the desires of our hearts. The weekend ended with a Mass in town, and since it was Mother’s Day, the priest asked us all to the front to give a blessing as Spiritual Mothers. It was a deeply moving and formative weekend, and I can’t thank the Sisters enough for their attentiveness and generosity in providing support through discernment. – Claire Gagliano
