The Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus are thrilled to celebrate the 125th anniversary of our founding. After being miraculously cured through the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Blessed Clelia Merloni journeyed to Viareggio, Italy and on May 30, 1894, founded the Congregation of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus joyfully celebrated the beatification of our foundress, Blessed Clelia Merloni, with commemorative liturgies in six dioceses where our U.S. Sisters minister. Held from February through April, these special liturgies were attended by thousands—from religious leaders to lay faithful.

The Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus announce that at the Ordinary Session of Cardinals and Bishops of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints held on January 9, 2018, the miracle attributed to the intercession of our Foundress, Mother Clelia Merloni, was recognized with a unanimous affirmative vote.
